Trot Insider has learned that longtime southwestern Ontario horseman John ‘Jack’ Fraleigh, of Glencoe, Ont. passed away on Tuesday, May 17. He was in his 84th year.
Fraleigh was one of the old guard of racing and was well known for his patience and ability to work with difficult young trotters. He was a great influence on the young drivers at Western Fair Raceway, Dresden Raceway, the Hiawatha Horse Park and other Ontario tracks.
Jack is the husband of MariLynn Fraleigh. Cherished father of Linda (Stan) Cutler and Carrie (Carl) DeSchutter and grandfather of Carl, Melanie (Kevin), Kevin (Lorrinda), Carleigh (Shawn), Brittany (Dan) and Travis and great grandfather of Ayden, McKennah, Ryleigh and Jesse.
Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at the Van Heck Funeral Home, which is located in Glencoe. Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

My condolences to the family. Mr Fraleigh was always a pure gentleman. From when I first met him when I was a child in Windsor to when I last saw him at the Forrest fall fair, he always had a smile for me and everyone else for that matter. Rest in peace
