OSS Nomination forms issued and deadline extended to June 15
Following a meeting of the Standardbred Improvement Program Advisory Group on May 10, 2012, the Program Administrator of the Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Program has released the conditions and nomination forms for OSS #41. As a result of the delay in releasing the conditions, the deadline for submitting nominations was extended to June 15, 2012.
The change in nomination deadline for the Ontario Sires Stakes was approved by the Board of the Ontario Racing Commission, providing an exemption to Rule 16.09 (a) of the Standardbred Rules of Racing that stipulates a May 15 deadline for yearling nominations. Extending the deadline and issuing the conditions for OSS #41 was supported by the Standardbred Advisory Group.
Nomination forms will be mailed to the first owner of record of all Ontario Sires Stakes eligible yearlings, as per normal practice. Participants are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure the payment is made by the deadline. Any participant who does not receive a Nomination form in the mail can download it from the Forms section on the OSS website at ontariosiresstakes.com. Additionally, in absence of the nomination form, the Program Administrator will accept a nomination where the name and tattoo of the yearling is printed on the cheque.
Those wishing to nominate yearlings are reminded to make their cheques payable to the Ontario Sires Stakes. Payments sent by mail must be postmarked on or before the deadline. It is recommended that payments be sent by registered mail.
