Trot Insider has learned that longtime horseman Walter James Johnston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29 at the Brantford Hospital at the age of 86.
Being a local, Johnston spent many years racing mainly at Hippodrome d'Aylmer and Rideau Carleton Raceway before moving to Brantford, Ont.
He was a horseman that will be remembered by many.
Funeral services are still pending, and Trot Insider will update this notice with that information when it is made available.
