March 15 Stakes Payment Reminders

Trot Insider has consolidated all of the releases pertaining to stakes payments and nominations that are due Thursday, March 15. Check back with this note, as it will be updated as releases are received

This notice may not contain all stakes with payments due on March 15. Please refer to your stakes guide for more information.



Standardbred Canada would like to remind owners/trainers that stakes payments are due on or before Thursday, March 15, 2012.

Stakes payments can be paid with a credit card using SC Stakes Online. A video tutorial is available to help you get started.

A generic stake form can be used to submit payments by mail. It can be located by clicking here.

Horsemen paying the Atlantic Sires Stakes sustaining payment must also pay the Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association membership fee of $45 per-owner per-year. If you have not already paid this fee in 2012, please remit it with your March 15 stakes payments.

Envelopes must be clearly post-marked on or before March15 to be accepted, despite inadequacies of the postal system.

Ontario Sires Stakes Two-Year-Old Payments - Due March 15

Sustaining payments of $500 for Ontario-sired two-year-olds that were nominated to the OSS as yearlings in 2011 is quickly approaching. All payments must be received or postmarked by Thursday, March 15, 2012.

Please be aware that envelopes dropped into a mailbox do not always get postmarked that day. We recommend sending payments by courier or registered mail so you will have proof that you sent it and the envelope can be tracked. If not sending by registered mail, please ensure that the envelope has a postmark of March 15th or earlier.

If you did not receive the sustaining notice that was mailed mid-February, a blank form has been posted under the “forms” section on the OSS website or just print your horse’s name and tattoo number on the front of your cheque and mail it to:

WEG Stakes Payments Due March 15

The Woodbine Entertainment Group has announced that nominations for its major stakes events, including the $1-million Metro Pace, the $750,000 (guaranteed) Maple Leaf Trot and $830,000 (estimated) Canadian Pacing Derby close Thursday, March 15.

RCR: March 15 Stakes Payments Coming Due

The race office at Rideau Carleton Raceway has reminded its horsepeople of payments which are coming due for a pair of the track's major stakes.

Ohio Grand Circuit Payments Coming Due

Sustaining payments for the 68th Little Brown Jug, 43rd Jugette, 61st Old Oaken Bucket and 62nd Buckette are due March 15. These are for foals of 2010 and will be raced in 2013.

Sustaining payments are also due for the 73rd Standardbred two-year-old colt and filly stakes for foals of 2010 to be raced in 2012.

Meadowlands March 15 Payment Reminder

The Meadowlands Racetrack has sent out a reminder about stakes nominations which are due Thursday, March 15.

Nominations will be closing for the Spring Survivor Series for three-year-old trotters and pacers (non-winners of two races or $30,000 in lifetime purse earnings as of March 1) and the Green With Envy and Ima Lula for four-year-old mares.

Payments Due March 15 For SBOANJ-Sponsored Stakes

Supplemental and sustaining fees are due on March 15, 2012 for the Anthony Abbatiello New Jersey Classic, Thomas D’Altrui Miss New Jersey and other stakes administered by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey.

PHRC March 15 Stakes Reminder

The Pennsylvania Sire Stakes is reminding horsemen that sustaining payments for the program must be postmarked by this Thursday, March 15.

Tioga & Vernon Payments Due March 15

Payments to nominate to all stakes serviced by Tioga and Vernon Downs have a closing date of March 15.

The Empire Breeders Classic, Kindergarten Trotting Classic, Artiscape, Bettors Delight, Credit Winner, Muscle Hill and Miss Versatility are all back for 2012 as part of a program estimated to be worth over $2.5 million at the two New York venues.

Payments Due For Balmoral And Maywood Stakes

Balmoral and Maywood Park would like to remind horsemen that sustaining and nomination payments are due on March 15 for several big stakes races at both tracks.

At Balmoral Park, nominating payments are due for the two-year-old American Nationals and the two-year-old Hanover Stakes. Nominating payments are also due for the two-year-old Orange & Blue Stakes as well as the Lincoln Land and Lady Lincoln Land Stakes for trotters. Payments are also due for the Southland Festival of Racing stakes that will be contested July 28 through August 4.

At Maywood Park, nominating payments are due for the Abe Lincoln Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts as well as the Galt Stakes for three-year-old trotters. Those events will be contested on Friday, November 16.
