Richard Farley Passes

Richard Farley, Quebec's racehorse owner of the year in 2003 as selected by other owners, has passed away

at the age of 68.

Farley, who owned a printing company in Boucherville and was a partner in a golf club, had a number of stakes winners, including Quebec-bred trotters Star Mocachino, victorious in the Coupe des Eleveurs final at both two and three, and Star Sheryl, Coupe des Eleveurs champ at two.

He also owned solid campaigners Aqua Angus, Gourmet Harmony, Absolute Power N., Star Black Ice, Go Get Gone and Star Sneakers.

"I've always had good horses," Farley said in an interview in 2003. "People say I'm a very lucky guy."

Farley is survived by his wife Louise Ledoux, daughter Nathalie and brothers Serge and Jacques.

Visitation will take place Saturday, November 27 and will start at 1:00 p.m. at Yves Legare funeral home, 2750 Marie Victorin Blvd. E., Longueuil. A prayer ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Richard was one of the nice guys. His passing is a great loss to the harness racing community in Quebec.
