Vintage Master (p,1:48.1, $2,162,979), the richest living son of Western Ideal, will be taking up a new residence for the 2018 breeding season as the stallion moves to Alberta.
At three, he was the winner of the Adios, Cane Pace, Tattersalls Pace, Bluegrass Stake, a Matron elimination, and a Progress Pace elimination and earned more than $1.3 million. His 1:50.4 victory in the Cane Pace was good for a Freehold Raceway record and the fastest mile on a half-mile track that year, while his 1:49.2 Adios triumph was a stakes and seasonal record on a five-eighths-mile track. In addition to his wins, he was second in the Meadowlands Pace and the Little Brown Jug. At four, he won the $500,000 Ben Franklin over Foiled Again.
Vintage Master, who twice set a word record on a five-eighths-mile track (1:48.4, and then 1:48.1), will stand at Olds College in 2018 for a fee of $1,500 Canadian.
