Todd Trites had a huge day in the sulky Saturday, reining six winners during a 14-dash card of harness racing at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John

.

The Fredericton-based reinsman catch-drove Thomasville Bodeen to a 2:01.1 triumph and guided the roan pacer Jacob to the winner's circle after the nine-year-old gelding scored the 69th win of his career in 2:02.4.

Trites later won consecutive races with Connely CC in 2:05.4, Ultimate Spirit in 2:08 and Rakland Fine Line in 2:03.1. He completed the six-win afternoon by piloting Dance Hanover to victory in 2:00.3.

Chris Davies and Gordie Hennessey both reined a pair of winners. Davies drove A Bit Like Britt to a 2:04.3 triumph and later captured the $1,700 top class with Perfect Trick as the 11-year-old recorded the 67th win of his career in 2:00.1.

Hennessey had back-to-back wins with Miss All Fun in 2:04.3 and Iwish Iwish in 2:03.

Other winners were Billienbud (Mike Downey) in 2:04.3, Dusty Lane Buster (Lonny Stokes) in 2:03.4, Woodmere Quickpeek (Scott Hubbard) in 2:00 and Sir Dutch (Bruce McGean) in 2:00.4.

Please note that results from Saturday's card of harness racing at Exhibition Park Raceway will be delayed. Horse Racing New Brunswick reports that the results will not be available until Monday and apologizes for any inconvenience.

Todd Trites is very good at driving. Back about 10 years ago, I spent some time in Fredericton, and went down to the stables every day and gradually talked to him every day at his stable. I often wondered how he would do on the WEG circuit.

I asked him the strongest thing to look for in racing for a fan to study.
He said a repeat winner comes about as the driver is really jazzed up. He also said a horse can tell if the driver is feeling "positive " after he wins a race. All drivers want to win right away real quick, according to Todd Trites. The new horse after the driver wins with another horse can "braven up" and get confidence from the driver who wants to hit the wire first in 2 races in a row !!!!!

So, it comes as no surprise that he won 6 on Nov.12. Best of luck, Todd. I still remember our little chats when the sun was coming up to burn off the fog on the backstretch .
