Harrah's Chester To Host Fall Four

Published: November 1, 2011 11:23 pm EDT

Breeders Crown winner Economy Terror was among eight two-year-old fillies entered in the Three Diamond Stakes at Harrah’s Chester, while Breeders Crown runners-up Win Missy B, A Rocknroll Dance, and Possess The Will also will make stakes appearances

at the Philadelphia-area oval.

Eliminations were unnecessary for the Three Diamonds, with all eight entrants advancing to the $475,000 final on Nov. 13. Joining Economy Terror in the field are Breeders Crown second-place finisher Handsoffmycookie, third-place finisher Pirouette Hanover and fourth-place finisher Shelliscape and Lightning Paige, Major Look, Robin Cruiser and Rockaround Sue.

Economy Terror is owned by Philadelphia’s Howard Taylor, Phoenixville, Pa.’s Edwin Gold and Archbald, Pa.’s Chuck Pompey. She has won seven of 10 races, finishing second in the three defeats, and earned $736,520. The Three Diamonds will be her final start of the year.

All of the fillies except Economy Terror and Pirouette Hanover will compete in a prep race this coming Sunday at Harrah’s Chester. Economy Terror and driver Brian Sears rallied from third place at the top of the stretch to win the $600,000 Breeders Crown for two-year-old filly pacers on Oct. 29, by 1-1/4 lengths over Handsoffmycookie in a stakes-record 1:51 at Woodbine Racetrack.

“If there was an elimination I would’ve been the first one signed up, but whenever you can give a filly like her the week off, it’s well deserved,” trainer Chris Oakes said. “She’s fit and sound. She’s going to be the horse to beat. She’s had a great year and done everything we’ve asked of her.

“I thought she was unbelievable in the Breeders Crown. Coming off the last turn she had some ground to make up, but Brian never even asked her to go. She did it on her own and he said she had a ton left.”

Sunday’s racing at Chester will see three eliminations for the Governor’s Cup for two-year-old male pacers, featuring A Rocknroll Dance; two eliminations for the Valley Victory for two-year-old male trotters, featuring Possess The Will; and two eliminations for the Goldsmith Maid for 2-year-old filly trotters, featuring Win Missy B.

A Rocknroll Dance, who headlines the first of three six-horse eliminations for the Governor’s Cup, has won five of nine starts and $598,325 this season. In addition to finishing second in the Breeders Crown, A Rocknroll Dance was second in the million-dollar Metro Pace in September.
The multiple stakes winner Speed Again, who was fourth in the Breeders Crown, will be in the third Governor’s Cup Elimination. Breeders Crown fifth-place finisher Escape The News will race in the second elimination.

Win Missy B, who has won six of 11 races and $538,675 this year, and the Breeders Crown third-place finisher For A Dancer are in the second of two eliminations for the Goldsmith Maid. Possess The Will, who has five victories in 10 races and $335,789 won, will be in the second of two Valley Victory eliminations.
