The Tony Scott-directed Hollywood blockbuster Beverly Hills Cop II contains a highly stylized scene depicting the robbery of a money room at a racetrack. What happened at Turf Paradise in Arizona on Sunday, Sept. 4 was well removed from the film starring Eddie Murphy
.
According to a report by Fox News 10 in Phoenix, a trio of would-be thieves hatched a scheme which ultimately saw a woman, who was five months pregnant, attempt to crawl through an attic in the raceway and down into the money room through the ceiling. The article explained that the three needed money for new tires on a vehicle.
The report explains that a loud crash and calls for help were heard during the caper. When security guard Bill Deeter responded to the unusual ruckus, he found the pregnant woman, apparently worrying about miscarrying her child, tangled in cords and wires in the ceiling.
Upon hearing the news, the track's general manager, Vincent Francia, was quoted as saying, “I thought, ‘Oh, gee whiz, this is just unbelievable.’"
Francia also went on to say, “Whatever their difficulties in life, this is not a way to resolve them.”
The woman was taken into custody and taken to hospital. Burglary charges await her. Her two conspirators in the plan were also apprehended on site.

The money room at Northlands
The money room at Northlands in Edmonton was hit back in the 90's.
A large amount of money was taken and to my knowledge the crime has never been solved.
It apparently was a professional job and planned for the first day of Hong Kong racing in Edmonton when there was an extra large crowd in attendance following a live harness
racing card.
