Honey Do Jigtime extended her winning streak to three-in-a-row in the opening tilt for trainer/driver Clare MacDonald. She rallied the daughter of Coastocoast Yankee-Gold Luck to a 2:00 triumph over Moon Landing and Mattadors Rose.
After going winless in her first four attempts, Honey Do Jigtime now owns a 3-1-0 record in seven starts for partners Morah Kerr of Greenfield and Phonsie McEachern of Port Hood, NS. The victory pushed her overall cash stash to $13,793.
Forthena gave trainer/driver MacDonald the sweep of the Williamson Memorial Stake thanks to her 2:02.3 triumph in the second division. Just like her stablemate did in the opening contest, the daughter of Force Of Life-Windsun Athena used her off-the-pace skills to win. She prevailed by a one-length margin over Yankee Dancer in 2:02.3. Pictonian Sunshine rounded out the top three finishers.
Riley Farms Ltd of Summerside and Earith Riley of Kensington, PEI share ownership on the youngster, who has put together a 3-2-2 record in the first eight starts of her career. She has banked just over $8,000 in the process.
Veteran pacer Jacob also earned a major milestone during the matinee program. The eight-year-old notched the 60th win of his career for driver Andrew Ward in a division of the Young Guns Drivers Challenge. Ward finished second in the point standings behind Saint John native Chris Davies.
