With his son Scott in the driver's seat, Jack Wray enjoyed a training triple at Hiawatha Horse Park on Saturday night (September 3).
The London, Ontario-based father-son duo teamed up for their first win of the night in the second race with four-year-old trotter Sergeant Seelster ($7.60) taking the lead at the third quarter mark in his first start since the conclusion of the Western Fair meet at the end of May. He drew off by six and a half lengths en route to the 2:02.1 victory.
The Wrays later won back-to-back races to close out the 10-dash card with their newly acquired four-year-old pacing mare Jinglewriter ($3.40) in 1:56.4 and four-year-old pacing gelding St Lads Flirt ($8.10) in 1:55.1. The win for Jinglewriter was her third in a row, but first competing from the Wray stable.
All three winners are owned by Scott and Jack Wray, with St Lads Farm partners on St Lads Flirt.
With his training triple, Jack Wray moved into a two-way tie atop the Hiawatha trainer standings with Greg Campbell (seven wins each) with three Saturday race cards left in the 2016 season.
