Workinitonbroadway strutted his stuff for an encore in the Preferred 4 Handicap Trot at Leamington Raceway, taking Sunday's feature on Harness The Hope Day.

Overcoming his outside post assignment in the $5,000 Preferred, Workinitonbroadway crossed to the command into the first turn ahead of 6-5 favourite Toscano Girl and never looked back as he extended his lead through the stretch to win by nearly three lengths in 2:02.4 over the 'good' track for trainer/driver Donnie Rankin Jr. Toscano Girl won the battle for second over Duke Deo, who journeyed first-over through the final lap.

Let go at 6-1 odds despite a victory from the trailing tier in last week's top trot, Workinitonbroadway returned $15.50 to his backers for the mild upset.

Going over the $400,000 mark in career earnings, the eight-year-old Broadway Hall gelding has proven time and again he knows how to win, with 51 successful starts on his resume. He's earned eight of those wins this year from 35 starts for Rankin and co-owner Chris Hadrian.

Sunday was Harness The Hope Day at Leamington Raceway, benefitting breast cancer support programs, awareness and research within Canada.

Driver Natasha Day, a supporter of Harness The Hope for more than five years at events held across Canadian racetracks, was named the charitable organization's first ambassador and pledged to donate all of her driver earnings from the day to the cause.

"Harness The Hope have been great at sponsoring me to fly all over Ontario, P.E.I. and Nova Scotia. We're going to Alberta next month and doing their first Harness The Hope out there," Day announced during the Sunday program. "It's great to represent Harness The Hope and women drivers all under the one banner."
