Wolfpack Russ ($6.20, Corey Callahan) was the fastest winner across four $20,000 first-leg Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) divisions for two-year-old trotters contested on Wednesday (Sept. 22) at Harrington Raceway.
Owned by Stuart Chambers, BCJM Inc., Divine Horse Racing and Cinebrew Enterprises, Wolfpack Russ held off a fierce rally from Spooky Punk for a narrow win. Canoe Trip was third. It was the second career win for the Glidemaster gelding, whom Nick Callahan trains.
LGs Reed O Wen ($2.40, Jim Morand) won his third straight race in the second DSBF split in 2:02.3 for owner Nanticoke Racing and trainer Les Givens. The Anders Bluestone gelding was a front-end winner over Rivers and Snow Burst.
Just four starters lined behind up the gate in the first female division, in which Art Stafford and Art Stafford Jr.'s Just Pump It ($3.40, Stafford Jr.) prevailed over Larimar and Lady Bluestone in 2:04.2. It was the first career start for the victorious daughter of CR Commando, whom Stafford Jr. also trains.
Andrew Glassmeyer's Franky Doyle ($4.00, Pat Berry) won the remaining filly division in 2:05 over Our Last Penny and Giant Arbirtration. The Glidemaster filly won in her first career start for owner-trainer Glassmeyer.
Jason Thompson, Victor Kirby, Mike Cole and Stafford Jr. each drove two winners; Jay Gannon and Joe Columbo had training doubles.
