Warrawee Whisper Reunited With Victory Lane

It was a long time between drinks for trotter Warrawee Whisper, but the Shawn Steacy trainee broke through for an impressive score versus conditioned foes during Tuesday’s 10-race card at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

James MacDonald, who celebrated a three-win performance on the card, got away fourth with Warrawee Whisper in the $13,000 conditioned affair, but they powered up to take the lead while racing parked past the half-way point in :56.

Kameran Hanover then rocketed up to take command as the field moved into the final turn, and he went on to lead the group past the three-quarter pole in 1:23.4.  That big third quarter rush left the leader a little soft in the late stages of the mile, and that allowed Warrawee Whisper to rally by in the closing strides.  He got up to win by a half-length margin over Kameran Hanover in 1:52.4.  Midnight Miracle took home third prize.

Sent off at odds of 7-1, the four-year-old son of Trixton-Karoon improved his 2022 record to 5-1-1 from 20 trips to the track for owners Mark Steacy, Natasha Steacy, Dr. Michael Wilson and Stephen Klunowski.  The victory was the seventh lifetime tally for the career winner of $233,779.
