Blows Me Away’s 1:58.3 clocking in her $12,200 division was the fastest of four New York Sire Stakes late closers for two-year-old pacing fillies at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon, September 21

. Other winners included Table Games, Canamerica and Leeann Majors.

Although each of winners showed class, Blows Me Away’s performance stuck out over the others.

Jimmy Marohn, Jr. handled the driving chores for trainer Jim Perry and slowly sent the daughter of American Ideal-Arts Reality to the lead from the five-hole, and they made the top just prior to the quarter, which was clocked in :29.3. From there, Marohn put Blows Me Away on cruise control and the filly traveled by the half in 1:00.1 and passed the third stanza in 1:29.4

At that point, Zeke Parker moved out to challenge the leader with In The Sauce and though they made a short run when they came off the final turn it was all Blows Me Away as she went on to an easy three-length triumph in 1:58.3 over In the Sauce. Southwind Missouri finished third for Phil Fluet.

“She’s really something,” Marohn said about Blows Me Away in the winner’s circle after their victory. "She’ll do whatever you want her to do at any point in the mile.”

The winner, owned by William and Jack Heinz of Ohio, notched her fourth consecutive victory. She paid $2.90 for win.

In the first late closer split, Brandon Simpson sent Tables Games to the lead, which she held nearly all the way. However, she was collared in mid-stretch by Cajun Twilight and Zeke Parker, but she came back to win to contest by a neck over Cajun Twilight in a time of 1:59.4. Lislea Bonita, the scourge of the county fair circuit, finished third for Jimmy Marohn, Jr.

“We got overtaken a bit in the stretch but when the filly heard the company alongside of her to my surprise she took off again and went on to victory,” Simpson related.

Owned by the Slo Down Stable, Ken Jacobs, Ed Namiotka and Frank Kane and trained by Sam Serianni, the Bettors Delight-Macks Table filly paid $3 for win.

Canamerica was an easy winner for driver John Stark Jr. in 2:00.1. Stark sent her to the front and Canamerica raced unchallenged throughout the mile and finished two lengths ahead of Paltrow Blue Chip and driver Chris Lems. Hepburn Blue Chip and driver Jimmy Marohn Jr. took home the show dough.

The daughter of American Ideal-Canadian Culture is owned by Edmund Smith, David Smith, Eloise Luchsinger and John Stark Jr. She paid $2.50 for win.

Ray Schnittker won the final NYSS late closer division with Leeann Majors over Cheer My Dear and Jimmy Marohn Jr. in 1:59.1. Third place went to Totally Silk driven by Jay Randall.

The Art Major-Heatherjeankillean filly notched her first lifetime victory for owners Schnittker, Edward Pachula and Kelks Inc. She returned a $9 win mutuel.
