New Brunswick's Woodstock Raceway was the target of theft on Monday night, Sept. 16.
Horse Racing New Brunswick (HRNB) has confirmed with Trot Insider that the starting gate was stolen on Monday night from the grounds at Connell Park.
The theft has been reported to local police. No other property was reported stolen or damaged.
Races will proceed safely and fairly as planned this Saturday, Sept. 21 as a starting gate previously sold by HRNB to Charles Gaudreault will be borrowed for the card.
The racetrack has been the target of mischief this summer with vandals cutting and removing six feet of the cable line under the grandstand during Old Home Week racing.
HRNB officials would like to extend a huge thank you to Gaudreault for the use of the starting gate this weekend.
