Jonathan Lapointe celebrated his first career driving win aboard Casimir Obama on Saturday night (September 16) at Hanover Raceway.
Lapointe drove the five-year-old son of Astronomical for trainer Rick Deacon and co-owners Danny Policelli and Andrew Rogers.
Casimir Obama converted off a pocket trip in the evening's fifth race and drew off by 10-3/4 lengths in a two minute mile. He paid $5.80 to win as the second wagering choice. Dervish Hanover led until the stretch and finished second while favourite Plans Over checked in third.
Lapointe, who has won 36 races as a trainer, notched his first driving win in just his 11th start.
