The wins keep piling up for the tandem of driver Guy Gagnon and trainer Mandy Archer during what has been a very successful season at Rideau Carleton.
Gagnon nabbed five wins on Thursday’s 11-race card, and four of them were supplied by trainer Archer.
The win parade started in Race 3 when Archer and Gagnon clicked with Getyourlicenseliam in 1:56. They then came right back to take Race 4 with Under Warranty in 1:57.4.
Four Finger Floyd came through for them in Race 8 thanks to his 1:53.3 triumph and they also took down Race 10 with Thinkingofyoubabe in 1:55.3.
Gagnon also scored earlier on the program with one from his own barn – Wild River Coyotee. The gelding was a front-stepping winner in Race 6 in a time of 1:54.4.
Gagnon’s five-win performance gives him a commanding lead in the drivers’ standings this season. His 99 victories is light years better than his fellow sulky sitters.
Archer’s four wins helped her open up the margin in the trainers’ standings at the oval. She’s up to 62 wins this season, with Gagnon holding down the second spot in the standings with 48 wins.
