Two-year-old pacing fillies West Coast Mist and Allittleforplace pulled off mild upsets as the Betty Millbank Breeders Stakes continued on Friday night at Fraser Downs with two $7,500 second round divisions.

West Coast Mist converted from the pocket to prevail in the opening division over first leg winners Judys Lass and Not Listed.

Driven by John Hudon for trainer Wayne Gaboury, the As Promised-Gg S Madi filly grabbed the lead from post four early on, but gave way to Not Listed (Serge Masse) after :28.4 opening quarter and played follow-the-leader through middle splits of :59 and 1:28.3. She then used the passing lane to get up in time for the narrow score in 1:59 flat with Judys Lass (Jim Marino) a neck back on the outside and Not Listed three-quarters of a length behind in between the top pair.

West Coast Mist, a runner-up in her career debut during last weekend's first leg, paid $6.80 to win as the 5-2 third choice. She is owned and bred by the Waybar Stables of Surrey, B.C.

In the following stakes division, Allittleforplace overcame the outside post position in to upset favourite Hurts So Bad.

Trainer-driver Rod Therres sent the Allamerican Cobalt-Jennys Place miss to the lead from post seven during a :28.3 opening panel and drew away from the field as cruised through middle fractions of :58.4 and 1:29 en route to victory in 1:59.1. Pocket-sitter Hurts So Bad (J.F.Gagne) chased her home for second-place honours, finishing one length behind, and Fast Lane Ferrari (Kayla Mills) was third.

Allittleforplace paid $18.70 for the upset win after finishing sixth in her career debut last week. She is owned and bred by Surrey horseman Therres and Blair Miller of Langley, BC.
