The Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society is pleased to welcome two iron horses into their program, Strike A Light and Lisvinnie. Both horses raced from age two through 10 and they each faced the gate more than 200 times in their long careers.

Strike A Light (pictured below) was certainly a well-travelled trotter in his career. He started at 11 Ontario racetracks, in addition to three tracks in Quebec and two in P.E.I. In total he made 205 lifetime appearances with a summary of 27-23-24 and earnings of $115,000. He was claimed 11 times over the course of his career.

Lisvinnie also saw his fair share of Canada during his racing life. He started out in Ontario with Jack Darling before heading to Western Canada where he raced for the Hennessy stable in Alberta and B.C. He spent the latter part of his career competing primarily on the WEG circuit. Through 257 career starts he was claimed 15 times, had 50 lifetime wins and earned just shy of $400,000.

Both horses have just been welcomed in the OSAS program and will have some down time before they start training. All of the horses currently available through OSAS may be viewed here.
