It has been reported that a racetrack is looking to make a $50,000 charitable donation to support local residents that were victims of flooding in June.
A report by The Observer-Dispatch states that between August 12 and August 18, Vernon Downs will be attempting to raise the $50,000 by donating all proceeds from its Champions Buffet fundraiser.
During the time period, patrons that donate $5 will receive a free buffet. Vernon's Jeff Gural will match all additional donations up to $50
The funds will be directed to local American Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts.
