Trot Insider has learned that 2016 Hambletonian Oaks winner All The Time was forced to undergo emergency colic surgery on Sunday.

Trainer Jimmy Takter confirmed that the 2015 Breeders Crown winner, bred and owned by Ontario's Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld, is recovering well and the vets at Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Hospital are pleased with her progress at this early stage, but it's still too early to predict when the talented trotter will return to the track.

After assembling a 7-2-0 record from 12 starts as a rookie, All The Time hasn't finished worse than second as a three-year-old, with four wins and three seconds from seven sophomore appearances. Her win on Saturday in the $500,000 Oaks lifted her lifetime bankroll north of $920,000 and gave trainer Takter and driver Yannick Gingras their third straight win in that race.

Takter was uncertain of All The Time’s future, saying it would take more than a month for the filly to recover from surgery.

"The chances that she is going to race again are 50-50 at best,” Takter told Harness Racing Communications. “Maybe I can have her ready for the Breeders Crown (in late October) but she will let me know. I’m not going to do anything to jeopardize her health. She is such a unique horse and her family is great. We are grateful for what she has done."

Racing is not important. Her health is. Prayers that she will be okay.

To heck with when she will be returning to the racetrack. Let's get her healthy first.
