Two-year-old pacing filly Lovineveryminute continued her undefeated stakes streak with a track record equalling victory in Wednesday's Atlantic Sires Stakes leg at Inverness Raceway.
Driven by Gilles Barrieau for trainer Earl Watts and River Valley Management of Quispamsis, N.B., Lovineveryminute journeyed first over from third to take the $9,480 opening "A" division in a new mark of 1:58.4. The homebred daughter of Western Paradise and Deliver Me won by two and a quarter lengths over pocket-sitter Pictonian Sareta and Mike Stevenson while the popular pacesetter Elm Grove Inarush, who was also undefeated heading into Wednesday's event, finished five lengths behind in third for Mark Bradley.
Lovineveryminute's winning time matched the divisional track record, originally set by Gordies Last Call in an ATSS event eight years ago to the day. Barrieau also drove that filly for the record-setting mile.
After winning her career debut in the Callbeck Stakes on July 1 at Summerside Raceway, Lovineveryminute has since reeled off three more consecutive victories in the Atlantic Sires Stakes to top the division.
Sail Through took the other "A" split in 2:01.1 to notch her first career win. The front-stepping filly, driven by Stevenson, prevailed by two lengths over Briannas Angel and Bradley while favourite Emily Annabel Mac and Clare MacDonald finished third. Wade Sorrie trains the Aahm Canadian Now-Shadowblue filly for P.E.I. owners Boyd Macdonald Prodce Ltd. of Crapaud and Daniel Ross of Belfast.
Shindeagin dropped down into the "B" division to score a 10-1/2 length maiden-breaking victory in 2:03.2 for trainer/driver Danny Romo. The Ameripan Gigolo-Pantagram filly is owned by breeder Thomas Hawco Jr. and George Della Valle, both of Sydney, N.S.
The next ATSS test for the two-year-old pacing fillies will be on August 15 at Charlottetown Driving Park.
