The Blondy and Dontalkaboutbruno scored maiden-breaking victories in the third round of the Prospect Series for two-year-old trotters at Clinton Raceway on a rainy Sunday afternoon that was dominated by driver Paul MacKenzie.

Kicking off the card in the first $8,700 Prospect division for the fillies, The Blondy ($12.80) earned her first career win, looping 2-5 favourite Muscle Charm during the first quarter and trotting on top the rest of the way in a 2:05.4 mile over the track rated 'good.' Travis Henry drove the daughter of Muscle Mass out of Tymal Tempest for trainer Jean-Francois Maguire, who co-owns with Ecuries Maguire Inc. She held off Chaud Holliday by three-quarters of a length at the end, with Muscle Charm finishing back in third. The Blondy has raced three times, improving with every start and got the best of Chaud Holliday this time after finishing second to that filly in their last Prospect match-up on July 25 at Georgian Downs.

Dontalkaboutbruno ($9.40) also broke his maiden in his third career start, crossing quickly to command from the outside post and leading the $8,600 mid-card division of colts wire-to-wire in 2:04.4 for trainer Dominic Gladu and Thestable Dntlkaboutbruno. Paul MacKenzie drove the Alarm Detector-Peach Martini gelding, who opened up an insurmountable lead turning for home and cruised to the wire finishing four lengths in front of Livingitlarge, with the 3-2 favoured previous leg winner, Eiffle Power, coming in third.

Dontalkaboutbruno was one of five winning drives on the day for MacKenzie. The veteran reinsman picked up his first win in the third race with trotter Dealin Magic ($4.60) for trainer Terry Gallant and swept the last three races with pacing mares Shakeitifyougotit ($5.40, pictured above) for trainer Lindsey Kerr, Anchor So Reel ($15.80) for Patrick Bissett and Top Royal ($3.90) for Kendall Rahn.

MacKenzie led all drivers for wins on the 11-race card while the track's meet-leading reinsman, Tyler Borth, had a successful Sunday as well and trailed MacKenzie by just one victory.
