Prospect Series standout Stmikes Kerryblues picked up another victory as the Ontario-sired three-year-old trotters invaded Clinton Raceway on Sunday, Aug. 3.

Trained by Kyle Fellows, Stmikes Kerryblues earned his fifth Prospect victory with a two-minute mile over the Clinton oval for driver Damian MacLellan in one of the afternoon's four $8,000 divisions, topping Gucci Gucci Goo (Paul MacKenzie) by 1-3/4 lengths with Dagrassaintgreener (Keith Jones) more than seven length behind in third.

The gelding, sired by Green Manalishi A out of multiple Ontario Sires Stakes winner Wilsonator, also won previous legs at Kawartha Downs, Dresden Raceway, Hanover Raceway and Grand River Raceway for Ontario-based owners Yolanda Fellows of Rockwood, breeder Edward Wilson of Seagrave, Steve McGill of Bewdley and Patrick Dillon of Port Hope.

Fellows and MacLellan won back-to-back Prospect races on the card with Banks A Million leading all the way for a 2:01 maiden-breaking victory in the following filly division. Yolanda Fellows also shares ownership of this winner, a daughter of The Bank and Craving You, with partners Erna Corbeil of Leduc, Alta, Irene Carey of Belgrave, Ont., and Guy Laporte of Kingston, Ont.

The other Prospect winners were High Stakes Stable's filly Royal Sauce, who prevailed in 2:02.1 to earn her second victory in the series with Jonathan Drury driving for trainer Gregg McNair, and trainer Dale Fritz's gelding Massedonia, co-owned by Ed Acheson, in 2:01.4 with Anthony Haughan between the wheels.

The next Prospect leg for the three-year-old trotters is scheduled for Aug. 19 at Georgian Downs.

Clinton Raceway hosted Ladies Day at the Races on Sunday in support of the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Foundation (AMGH). The event raised approximately $4,000 through a community-driven effort that included a bake sale, 50/50 draw, silent auction and race sponsorships. Adding flair to the afternoon, groups of ladies arrived dressed in their best, making the grandstand sparkle with style.

Clinton Raceway would like to extend its sincere thanks to all who donated, volunteered and participated to make the day a meaningful one for local healthcare. With such an enthusiastic turnout, the raceway is already looking ahead to a bigger and better event next season!

Clinton Raceway reported that $89,749 was wagered on the 10-race afternoon card.
