Northside Downs record holder Junebugs Baby scored another wide-open win against Nova Scotia's top pacers on Saturday, drawing off by nearly seven lengths in the afternoon's $1,300 feature event.
Fresh off a four and three-quarter victory at Inverness Raceway last Sunday, Junebugs Baby took over the lead from Putnams Power past the half-mile mark and drew off by six and three-quarter lengths for Saturday's 1:56.4 triumph. Le Fugueur came on for second, finishing just ahead of Putnams Power.
Junebugs Baby is now six-for-nine in 2015 and boasts 35 career wins on his resume. The six-year-old son of Western Paradise, who set a 1:55.1 track record for aged pacing stallions with a 15-length romp at the beginning of the month, is campaigned by horseman Fraser Turnbull and co-owner John Turnbull Jr. He's banked $85,464 in 71 career starts.
