Titans Mischief was on his best behaviour as he dominated his opponents in the sole $150,417 New York Sire Stakes dash for two-year-old colt-and-gelding trotters at Batavia Downs on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

With no challengers off the wings, Titans Mischief (Matt Kakaley) inherited the lead from a pole position start and commanded a field fractured by three breakers. With Whos Eyes Blues (Jim Morrill Jr.) and AI (Tyler Buter) following loosely in chase, Titans Mischief set fractions of :30, 1:00.2 and 1:28.4 before heading into the final turn. At the head of the lane, Titans Mischief was on top by three lengths and on cruise control, and he finished under wraps in 1:57.4. He was 2-3/4 lengths clear of place finisher Whos Eyes Blues. AI completed the triactor.

The win was the third in six lifetime starts for Titans Mischief ($5), who is owned by B Clarke Racing LLC in partnership with John Coffey. The E L Titan-Morosita Bi colt has now earned $234,482.

There were also two $27,778 New York Excelsior Series races for rookie male trotters on the card.

In the first, Twin B Seven Sins ($2.70) won in 2:00 for driver Tyler Buter, trainer Noel Daley, and owners Patricia Stable, Caviart Farms, Allister Stables LLC, and L.A. Express Stable. The son of Chapter Seven-Affair Hall is now two-for-five.

The second was won by the Credit Winner-Paya La Renta colt Credito ($4.30), who won for the second time in seven outings in 2:03 for driver Ray Fisher Jr., trainer Ryan Swift, and owner Ilovemyharnesshorse Tito.

The live racing schedule at Batavia Downs shifts from Thursday to Friday this week, but post time remains the same at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, the New York Sire Stakes returns for the second time this week with a double-header on the bill. The three-year-old filly trotters will line up for $121,800 USD in a sole division, and the sophomore trotting males will vie for $114,900 USD across two splits.

Saturday will also feature Batavia Downs' signature race, the $100,000 USD Robert J. Kane Memorial Invitational Pace, which features some of the best older pacers in North America, including double millionaires Captain Albano and Desperate Man.
