This Saturday (August 24), Hanover Raceway will play host to its 11th annual All Trot Night.
Not only is Hanover the only track in North America with an All Trot Night, but on Saturday the track will also be 'Bring A Friend' night, Balanced Image elimination night, and Hanover will also be hosting its second Racing Under Saddle dash of the season.
Hanover started the all-trot program to pay tribute to the many great horses and horsepeople that were developed in rural Ontario -- none of which were more important than the late Allan and Viola Walker of Owen Sound, who are honoured with the 39th annual Walker Memorial Trot.
Local drivers and Riders will participate in a meet and greet under the grandstand from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., including Stuart Sowerby and Jay Harris.
The Racing Under Saddle dash will be contested in the middle of the program. Also, the draw for the eight starting positions in the Balanced Image two-year-old final after the last elimination in front of the live crowd.
Fans who bring a new fans to the races will have a chance to win special prizes, including a tour of the backstretch and a ride in the starting car during a race.
First-race post time Saturday for All Trot Night is 7:30 p.m.
