Driver Bob McClure had the hottest hands on the Tuesday night card at Georgian Downs, finishing his assignments with five wins.
With drives in all eleven dashes, McClure connected with two-year-old Art Instructor (1:57) in Race 1, Waikiki Hanover (1:56.3) in Race 5, Record Store (1:58.1) in Race 6, Wildcat Art (1:56) in Race 8 and Pictonian Caper (1:55.3) in Race 10.
On the national scale, Bob McClure sits second for driving wins in Canada with 211. Only Alfie Carroll (267) has more.
McClure padded his local lead to 46 wins at Georgian in 2015 over the second-placed dash-winning driver Paul MacKenzie -- who is enjoying a working vacation in P.E.I. for Old Home Week -- and his 27 wins with Billy Davis Jr. in third with 23.
One of the ones that got away from both McClure and Davis, however, was the feature $7,500 Preferred 3 Trot. Those honours went to Hidden Identity and trainer-driver Pat Hudon, whose first-over grind from the five-eighths mark gave him enough cushion to hit the wire a length to the good over Tornado Tim (Dan O'Brien) and Protege Seelster (Travis Henry) in 1:57.
Hidden Identity (Angus Hall - Chelemark Candy) notched his 12th lifetime win for Hudon, who co-owns with Bill Cripps of Acton and Charles Gazzola of Waterloo, Ont. The lion's share of the purse pushes the gelding's lifetime earnings over the $200,000 mark.
