Peter Wrenn, 46, got career driving win No. 8,000 on Sunday, August 16, at the Midland County Fair in his home state of Michigan when he piloted Specialty Training to victory in an elimination race for the Spartan Futurity for two-year
-old male trotters.
Later during the day, he got triumph 8,001 when Specialty Training won the final.
Wrenn ranks No. 16 in harness racing history for wins among drivers in North America. This year, the Detroit-born Wrenn has 354 victories and $2.3 million in purses.
Now based in Indiana, Wrenn won this year’s Hoosier Park driving title with 151 victories and tied for sixth in the training standings with 22 wins. He currently tops the driver standings at Indiana Downs, with 36 triumphs.
Wrenn, who got his first win in 1978, won a career-best 634 races in 2007.
