Three-Week Simo. Extension Agreed On In Nevada

It has been reported that a three-week 'cooling off' period has been implemented in order for a Nevada simulcasting disagreement to hopefully get resolved without impacting loyal horse racing punters that pump money into state racebooks.

The current agreement was only in place until the end of July 2012 and parties involved have yet to settle on a new agreement, which could've left Nevada racebook punters shut out.

A report by the Las Vegas Review-Journal has explained that the Las Vegas Dissemination Co. and the state's Off-Track Pari-Mutuel Wagering Committee have agreed to a three-week extension in order to give all parties "adequate time to review the circumstances while protecting the public's ability to wager," according to Gaming Control Board Chairman Mark Lipparelli.
