This past weekend saw stakes action and big headlines coming out of virtually every major horse-racing jurisdiction in eastern North America. One of the major headlines which appeared to slide under the radar was the return of driver Jim Morrill, Jr. from a lengthy suspension
.
Morrill, who was handed a 270-day suspension by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission after refusing to take a breathalyzer test last October, made his return to the racebike yesterday at Buffalo Raceway.
The veteran reinsman made his return with nine drives on Buffalo Raceway's program. He steered two of his mounts to the winner's circle and recorded a lone second-place finish and two thirds.
Overall, Morrill has driven his mounts to 4,925 wins and to purse earnings of over $68 million.
