Can Veteran Continue Dresden Streak?

Magnum Seelster is hoping to stay red hot at the local oval as he is in search of his fifth straight win in a row. The 11-year-old Intrepid Seelster gelding has shown great favour to Dresden Raceway this season with five wins and a second in six starts, including taking first prize in his last four races.

Leading driver Tyler Borth has been at the controls for each of Magnum Seelster's starts at Dresden for owner/trainer Doug Currie of Brigden, Ont. The 2-1 morning line favourite in the 10th race has another aged veteran to worry about as 12-year-old Camotion gelding Cat Four is expected to challenge for driver Brad Forward. Cat Four was claimed three races in a row and has moved from the $6,000 claiming ranks up to a $10,000 price tag, but has dropped back down to the $8,000 claiming ranks.

Sunday is also Kid’s Day at Dresden Raceway, including bouncey castles, special children’s draws and giveaways.

The day will also feature the Earl Hyatt Memorial Pace. Hyatt was longtime horseman from Brigden who was a force to be reckoned with in the 1970s and 1980s in Southwestern Ontario.

Post time is set for 1:30 p.m.
