On the Tab, Hard Livin, Chimon and Federalreservenote gave trainer Jimmy Takter and driver Dan Dube a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes grand slam on Monday, July 20 evening at Chester Racetrack, as five divisions of two-year-old trotting colts and geldings faced the starting gate.
Hard Livin (SJs Caviar--Affinity) was the fastest of the Takter/Dube quartet, turning in a 1:58.2 first-over performance and holding off Mr McRail (driver Ron Pierce) and Freedom Ridge (David Miller) despite bearing out through the stretch.
Christina Takter and John Fielding own all four trotters, with Falkbolagen Ab co-owning On the Tab and Hard Livin, and Louie Camara also in partnership on On the Tab. Goran Anderberg co-owns Chimon and Federalreservenote.
Despite the Takter/Dube tour de force, Upandover Hanover was fastest of the two-year-old trotters, inheriting the lead at head-stretch and finishing handily in 1:57.4 for Brett Miller and trainer Scott Cox. Towering Oaks Farm owns Upandover Hanover (Andover Hall--Up Front Lisa).
Stallion Series Continues At Chester
In addition to Pennsylvania Sire Stakes action for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings, seven divisions of the Stallion Series for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings went to post on Monday evening at Chester.
Native Justice (Allamerican Native--Eternal Justice) was the fastest of the winners, drawing clear after pressure in a 1:54.3 mile. Ron Pierce handled the driving assignment for owner Dean Casaday and owner-trainer L. David Emanuel, II. Pierce also was victorious with Under Sail (Arturo--Homeward Rd) in 1:56 for John and Susan Marshall.
Tim Tetrick recorded a Stallion Series double with Tom Paine and Pan of the Lost, while This Dragonflyzzz, Coastal Art, and Great George rounded out the division winners.
