A horse that wins by 29 lengths is sure to garner some attention and warrant discussion.

During the Friday morning session of qualifiers at Mohawk Racetrack, two-year-old trotting filly Wish I Was There made a statement in her first on-track appearance. With Mike Saftic at the lines, Wish I Was There made every call a winning one through fractions of :30.2, :59.3 and 1:29.1 before uncorking a :29.4 closer to trip the timer in 1:59. The mile time was impressive, the 29-length win margin over P L Lily made it eye-catching.

Clark Beelby trains Wish I Was There (Wishing Stone - Zeta Jones), a $50,000 Harrisburg yearling purchase of Coyote Wynd Farms of Vancouver, B.C. She's a half sister to speedy stakes winner Billy Flynn.
