Juvenile trotters took centre stage on Tuesday evening (July 10) at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway, as Little Miss Winnie ($3.20) lived up to odds-on billing in her $15,580 Atlantic Sires Stakes event on Prince Edward Island.
Kenny Arsenault put the daughter of Tad The Stud in play from the outset to clear the lead through a :31.2 quarter before rating a soft 1:06.1 middle half. That breather was enough for Little Miss Winnie to parry a first-over challenge from Ableway (Steven Shepherd) and prevail by 2-3/4 lengths in 2:08. Mile Hill Willie (Paul Morrison) overcame an early break and rallied to save third.

A trio of $6,340 Atlantic Sires Stakes events for three-year-old trotters shared featured billing, and Arsenault captured two of them to cap a stakes hat trick. Mile Hill A J ($20.20) was a gate-to-wire winner in 2:03 for trainer Paul Morrison, while Oceanview Eunomia ($10.60) used a sustained first-over push to just collar Majian Gilroy in 2:02.1 for owner-trainer William Roloson.
West River Cindy ($10.30) rounded out the trio of successful sophomores with a 2:02.3 score, lifting from the pocket to beat pacesetter Buddy White while in rein to Kenneth MacDonald for trainer Mary Clare MacDonald.
In the $1,950 Open Trot, 6-5 favourite Hop Up ($4.40, Corey MacPherson) overcame her outside post via an extended first-over grind to narrowly prevail over Isabella Hanover in 2:00.4 (Adam Merner).
