Why would someone like Randy only aaply for an owners licence? Perhaps thats all that was apoved. Something fishy here. Randy is usually not shy. Maybe he can let the readers know why he isn't licenced as a driver in New York state.

No offence to T.K.,Garnet, but something smells fishy to me. Why hasn't Waples driven outside of Canada for so long? He is certainly one of the most talented drivers you will ever see, and yet he doesn't race in any of the big stakes races elsewhere. I have heard it said that he is "afraid of flying". Anyone gullible enough to believe that?

I have a great deal of respect for Waples as a driver, but he should come clean and tell us the real story. Does this have something to do with the incident a few years ago when he was banned from the WEG circuit and later reinstated?

Why shouldn't TK drive her? He has been doing a great job all along.
Happy to see he got the chance!

I'm really happy that Tony 'got the chance' and also got the job done. BIG TIME ! But that's not the point -

Why can't Randy Waples drive in the US?

Can somebody give us a REAL & True answer? In ordinary English that we can understand?

According to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, Randy is licensed in New York as an owner, but not a driver.

Had Randy applied for a license to drive, the application isn't an instant process - and wouldn't have been approved in time for Sunday's race - so the switch from Waples to Kerwood was made.

How come Randy didn't drive 'Dreamfair Eternal'???
I see she won this thing rather handily with 'Tony Kerwood' driving!
What's up???????

I have nothing but respect for both randy and tony either one the results would be the same. both have driven horses for me that I have trained years ago and owned lately and won with. Pat Fletcher and I got our trainers licence at the same time almost to the day. He is an old schooler, make a horse health and happy in there work and envirment and then the real horse will come throught. I think she is the pacing equivalent to trottings Armbro Chronical and Sand Pail they are all ageing like a very fine wine and gets better every year. Pat remember who told you about Trouser Mouse.
