Hanover Raceway featured five $8,000 divisions of the Prospect Series on Saturday, June 28, with sophomore trotting colts and fillies featured on the afternoon's 11-race card.
Trotting filly Not Passable ($2.20; pictured above) and driver Jody Jamieson took advantage of a brief miscue from Hadley (driven by Trevor Henry) past the three-quarter mark of their Prospect Series division, clearing to the lead as Henry reset his horse and then maintaining the lead for the 2:01.1 victory. Hadley rallied for a runner-up finish with Royal Sauce (Jason Ryan) rounding out the triactor ticket.
Carl Jamieson trains and co-owns Not Passable, a daughter of Muscle Mass - Danish Darby, along with breeder Glengate Farms of Erin, 1140545 Ontario Ltd. of Guelph and Dale Hunter of London, Ont. The filly picked up her second win on six lifetime starts, now sporting $15,750 in earnings.
Saturday's card featured three Prospect Series divisions for the fillies and two for the colts. The Prospect filly division winners flashed more speed than their male counterparts on this occasion.
Vowel For Vanna ($9.30) converted off a pocket trip from driver Bruce Richardson for a 2:02.2 victory in her Prospect split. John Holding of Kitchener, Ont. co-owns and trains the daughter of Resolve - Harlequin Seelster, now a three-time winner in her career with $23,676 in earnings, along with Morley Bosomworth of Elora.
Kaylas Incharge ($6.50) lived up to her name with a 13-length spanking of her rivals in 2:02.3, easily besting Graces Secret (Jason Ryan) and Eartha K (Bob McClure). A four-time winner in her career with $35,250 in earnings, Kaylas Incharge is a daughter of My MVP - Bobbi Jos Ex owned by driver Louis Gregg, trainer Vicki Gregg — both of Cargill — along with James Dale of Atwood, Ont.
Favourites delivered as expected in the two $8,000 Prospect divisions for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings. The Cardinal Stable's LMC Little Chips ($2.80) and Paul MacKenzie held on for a 2:03.4 score by a neck over Massedonia (Travis Henry) with Dagrassaintgreener in the show spot. The son of Wheeling N Dealin - Massive Qutie notched his third career victory to lift his bankroll close to $34,000.
