Pretty Crafty has already established herself as a pretty good producer. Her 2026 two-year-old appears poised to join her production record as a top-tier trotter.

The dam of horses the likes of I Got The Looks ($439,558), Masstercraft (($336,204) Publicity Seeker ($336,110) and Stable Genius ($256,270), Pretty Crafty sports average earnings of more than $250,000 per starter as of press time. Consistency in the production department likely helped the sale price of D A Mindcraft last fall, as the son of Muscle Mass topped the first session of the 2025 London Classic Yearling Sale for breeders Ashley & Dean Wilson of Kerwood, Ont. with his $140,000 sale to Pollack Racing LLC of Venetia, Pa.

That yearling now goes by Unstable Genius, the fastest trotter during the session of baby races at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, June 27.

An off-the-pace 2:03.2 winner one week ago, Unstable Genius uncorked a wire-to-wire 1:58.2 score on Saturday for driver James MacDonald and trainer Dave Menary. Leaving from post four, MacDonald sent Unstable Genius away quickest from the car and faced nary an anxious moment from there. After fractions of :30.2, 1:00.3 and 1:29.4 to best his competition by five lengths, Unstable Genius uncorked a :28.3 final panel to best his group by more than 10 lengths at the line. Great White North (Bob McClure) finished second with Legendary Warrior (Doug McNair) next across.

MacDonald also engineered one of the fastest pacing miles of the session, going wire-to-wire with Mascarpone in the third dash to give the son of Stay Hungry-Creme Fraiche a 1:54.2 speed badge. MacDonald asked the Dr. Ian Moore trainee for early speed, and the colt cleared to the top from post six to gain command and maintain it for the duration of the contest. After honest fractions of :29.1, :58.4 and 1:27, Mascarpone spread his legs out for a :27.2 final quarter to trip the timer nearly seven lengths the best. Aussie Pharoah (Mike Vanderkemp) finished second, just ahead of Century Nantucket (Louis-Philippe Roy).

Bred by Susan Zammit of Hillsburgh, Ont., Mascarpone was an $80,000 London Classic yearling now owned by Mascarpone Stable of Cambridge, Ont.

Matching Mascarpone in the speed category was Wheels Up, who took flight for trainer-driver Paul Davies and also posted an impressive 1:54.2 qualifying time in the ninth dash. Leaving from post four, Wheels Up posted modest early fractions of :29.3 and :59.3 before pacing up the pace in the back half. After hitting three quarters in 1:27.2, Wheels Up lifted off down the lane with a :27 final split to find the wire 4-1/2 lengths before his closest rival, Big D Energy (Mark MacDonald). Mark The Mechanic (J.R. Plante) completed the top trio.

Davies co-owns Wheels Up (All Bets Off-Our Vacation) along with wife Nicole of Arthur and Steve Fudge of Erin, Ont. Another graduate of the London Classic, Wheels Up was a $35,000 yearling bred by 1187422 Ontario Inc. of Ottawa, Ont.
