At the age of just 17 years old, Hannah Beckett notched her first ever training triumph with her own trotter Rubaiyat in the Friday opener at Woodstock Raceway
Driven by Nicholas Boyd, Rubaiyat broke her own maiden in 2:04.4 after firing to command from post seven and cruising home for the three-quarter length victory. Sent postward as the longest shot on the board at 24-1, the four-year-old mare paid $51.20 for the upset win.
Rubaiyat was the Lynden, Ont. conditioner's 14th starter. Beckett's father Peter co-bred the mare.
