Drivers Daniel Dube and Richie Silverman are beginning to recover from injuries they sustained in a racing accident on Friday, June 18 at Meadowlands Racetrack
.
Dube’s major injuries included a pair of fractured vertebrae in his lower back and a carpal bone in his right hand. He was discharged from Hackensack University Medical Center earlier this week but will undergo further x-rays Wednesday, as doctors determine a course of physical therapy for him.
"We'll know a lot more Wednesday,” said Dube’s girlfriend, Kim Richards. “Right now it's hard to say how long he'll be out."
The most severely injured of the six drivers involved in the crash, Silverman suffered a severe concussion and fractured the insides of both of his ankles. He remains at Hackensack University Medical Center, where he underwent another MRI late Tuesday afternoon. Unable to stand on his feet for six weeks, Silverman will transfer to a physical rehabilitation center before eventually heading home to recuperate.
