Enola scored her second straight gate-to-wire victory in the $20,423 Open Trot at Tioga Downs and featured in a training triple for Rob Harmon on Saturday, June 20.
Enola charged straight to the front for Mike Merton and was first to the quarter in :28. She controlled things to the half in :57.2 before Tuis Angel (Ridge Warren), the other mare in the five-horse field, came first-up to challenge as they headed down the backstretch. With that rival three-quarters of a length adrift, Enola reached three-quarters in front in 1:25.1. Tuis Angel and Enola slugged it out around the final turn and down the stretch, but Enola dug in and won by three-quarters of a length in 1:54. Sir Maverick (Joe Chindano Jr.) took third money.
Enola, a six-year-old daughter of Resolve-Deweys Katie, took her third straight win at Tioga and improved to five-for-19 on the year for owner Go For Glory Stable LLC. She is now 21-for-108 lifetime with a bankroll of $531,976. Her win price was $3.36.
Harmon moved up to second in the Tioga trainers' standings via wins by Enola, Hermoso Rey ($6.70) and Gritty Hanover ($10.44). With 14 wins at the meet, he is a single score back of leader Mike Deters. The conditioner is 90-for-476 across all tracks in 2026.
Drivers Mike Merton and Ridge Warren had grand slams on the 12-race card. Merton drove all three Harmon-trained winners as well as Ev Does It ($2.68), who took the first race. Warren went to the winner’s circle with Wukong ($4), Mob Enforcer ($26.90), What A Buckeye ($6.12) and Lorranga ($17.34).
Live racing resumes at Tioga on Sunday starting at 12:30 p.m.
