Patrick Shepherd closed out a productive weekend of racing with a training triple on Sunday afternoon at Clinton Raceway.
The 22-year-old horseman earned Clinton victories with pacers Blackbird Singing, Arnies Kick Start and 12-year-old trotter Weskey -- each driven by Billy Davis Jr., who added a fourth victory to his own win count in the finale with Joanne Pond trainee Tendtowin.
Between eight starts this weekend at Hanover and Clinton, Shepherd's stable won five races and finished no worse than third.
Shepherd is well on his way to a career-best year and boasts 89 wins so far in 2015 to rank second on the national leaderboard behind Canada's reigning Trainer of the Year Richard Moreau (127 wins). His .391 training average ranks fourth nation-wide.
Shepherd will look to continue his winning momentum as his stable heads to Georgian Downs to start the week.
