Sweetasmusic captured the second round of the $30,000 Indiana Gold Sire Stakes for three-year-old trotting fillies at Hoosier Park on Thursday, May 31 to remain perfect in sire stakes action this season and retain her four-race win streak.

Over a track rated 'sloppy,' Sweetasmusic started from Post 1 with trainer/driver/co-owner Walter Haynes Jr. and wound up third through the :30.4 first quarter. Shes Country (driven by Charlie Conrad) led the field to the half-mile marker with Antie M closely behind in second.

Shes Country’s lead was short lived, as Conrad yielded the top spot to Sweetasmusic, the post-time favourite, just before the half (1:02.3). After clearing to the front, the daughter of Gut Instinct trotted away from the field and hit the wire first in 2:01.3. Shes Country held on for the second-place finish and Honeyinthepine trotted home evenly to get up for third. Sweetasmusic returned a $2.40 win price.

It was the fourth consecutive victory in five seasonal starts for Sweetasmusic. Owned by Walter Haynes Jr. and the Y-Not Racing Stable, the sophomore filly has bankrolled over $48,000 this year.

Blueridge Abigail and Pete Wrenn capitalized on a break by the heavily-favoured, Cincinnati Star to capture the second division in 2:03.
