Hall of Famer Steve Condren hasn't found the winner's circle since recently returning to the sulky after a successful battle against cancer, but he could put on quite the show on Saturday night
. Condren has been listed to drive the top mare in Canada as of late, double millionaire Put On A Show in the $42,000 Mares Open at Woodbine Racetrack for partners Craig Henderson, and Richard & Joanne Young.
When asked, Richard Young stated, "Steve is one of the finest drivers and gentlemen in our sport. Jody [Jamieson] has driven 'Show' wonderfully for us but when he was unable to do so because of other commitments Steve was a natural replacement. Steve has been through a lot over the past year and I'm really excited to see him back doing what he loves. The fact he'll be driving Put On A Show for us just makes it that much better."
While regular pilot Jody Jamieson is travelling to The Meadowlands this Saturday night to drive Mister Herbie in the final of the Arthur J. Cutler Memorial Trot, Condren will be part of a 12-race card at Woodbine that also includes the $75,000 The Diplomat and Princess finals and a $50,000 Open Pace.
