No Contest At Flamboro; Forward & Carroll To Hospital

Ontario Racing Commission judges declared Saturday’s first race at Flamboro Downs a ‘no contest’ as a result of a nasty-looking accident that sent drivers Brad Forward and Alfie Carroll to hospital.

Bad Sister (Brad Forward) fell after making a break in the first turn, and moments later Dreamfair Dahlia (Alfie Carroll) hooked the wheel of that fallen foe’s sulky. Both drivers were unseated from their bikes, and were later taken to a nearby hospital to be examined.

There were no details on the extent of their injuries. There were no details on the condition of the horses involved in the accident.

As reported Monday, Alfie Carroll suffered a concussion as a result of his accident. This forced him to withdraw from the Ontario Regional Driving Championship, with Paul MacKenzie taking his place.
