Twin B Excalibur lowered the track record for aged trotters with his 1:58.3 wire-to-wire effort at Dresden Raceway on Sunday afternoon

.

With driver Danny Johnson in the bike, the eight-year-old son of Earl-Senorita Sierra left from the inside post position and charged past panels of :28.4, :58.3 and 1:28.3 with a two to three length lead on the field in the seventh race. Twin B Excalibur, the 5-2 second choice, cruised to the wire in 1:58.3 with the pocket-sitter and odds-on favourite, Spirit Of Canada (Robert Sparling Jr.), following one and three-quarter lengths behind for second and Once A Thief (Greg Dustin) seven and a half lengths back in third.

The 1:58.3 clocking lowered Twin B Excalibur's own track record for aged trotting geldings by two-fifths of a second. The mile was also one-fifth of a second better than J LS Sunny Boy's record for aged trotting horses. Spare Time Rozie holds the all-age trotting record, which she set as a three-year-old in 2006.

Twin B Excalibur paid $7.40 to win for the third consecutive time at Dresden. Randall Fulmer trains and co-owns the winner of five races in 13 starts this year and $16,224 with Phillip Katcher of Dewitt, Michigan. Twin B Excalibur now boasts 42 wins on his lifetime record and $276,755 in earnings.
