The Slots Cup Series moved to Flamboro Downs for the second round on Sunday evening and while it was a new venue for the pacers, first leg winners Cajon Thunder and Every Day produced the same results

.

After winning his first leg division at Western Fair Raceway on May 13 in wire-to-wire fashion, Cajon Thunder put forth a winning first over performance to kick off the second round action.

Encore Seelster (Paul MacKenzie) left from Post 2 and carved out opening fractions of :27.2 and :57.3 while J.R. Plante sent favourite Cajon Thunder first up from fourth. The four-year-old Cammibest-Tex In The City gelding went nose-to-nose with the leader as they raced past three-quarters in 1:25.3. Cajon Thunder continued to pour on the pressure in the stretch and was able to wear down Encore Seelster for the one length tally in 1:54.4. Ciona Bromach (Scott Coulter) came on for second while Encore Seelster finished third.

Trained by Bruce Goit, Cajon Thunder earned his third consecutive victory and fourth in 13 seasonal starts for JL Benson Stables Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Aaron Waxman of Burlington, Ont. and KDM Stables Corp. of Farmingdale, New York. The lion’s share of the $12,000 purse pushed his bankroll over the $100,000 mark.

Every Day wired his Slots Cup Series foes over two weeks ago and after making a break in a conditioning assignment at Flamboro the following week, he went the distance again in series action.

After leaving from Post 4, driver Luc Ouellette put the favoured four-year-old son of Western Terror-Eidette Hanover on the front and cruised past panels of :28, :56.3 and 1:25.1 en route to a five-length victory in 1:53.4. Pocket-sitter Bakardi Arti (Paul MacKenzie) stayed for second and Lawmen Reign (Ross Battin) followed in third.

Wayne Preszcator trains and co-owns the winner of four races in 12 seasonal starts with Ouellette and Harness Racing Canada 11 of Ajax, Ont. The six-time career winner has earned almost $70,000 to date.

The Slots Cup Series, for Ontario sired pacers that are four-years-old and younger and non-winners of $75,000 life as of January 15, 2011, will move to Georgian Downs on Tuesday, June 14 for the third leg.
