It is highly unusual in any sport for a team or a person to win 11 in a row, but it is remarkable for a racehorse to win that many consecutively

.

Today at Freehold Raceway, Shortest Distance, a four-year-old mare stopped the teletimer in 1:56:4 to stay unbeaten in her last 11 tries.

The John Schmigel owned and trained Park Place daughter started her winning streak on February 24th this year when she added lasix, and hasn’t known failure since.

Driver Jim Marshall III has been behind her in all her victories.
