Guy Celebrates First Training Triumph

Trainer Ken Guy celebrated his first career win on Sunday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway as his pacing mare Beckys Delight overcame a trailing starting spot and the longest odds in the field to pull off a 58-1 shocker

Driven by Gord Brown, the eight-year-old Bettors Delight mare rallied home off cover to win her $6,500 claiming assignment in 1:58 by a quarter-length over the pylon-skimming Waterside Lucky. She paid a whopping $119.10 to win.

Beckys Delight was the 11th starter over the course of three years for the 21-year-old Kemptville, Ont. conditioner.
